Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka announced Fiji’s intention to host the 2031 Pacific Games during the 2023 Fiji Sports Awards at HFC Bank Stadium. He revealed that Fiji has made an official submission to host this regional athletics event through the Fiji Association of Sport and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC), which will present the bid in Palau next month.

Mr. Rabuka emphasized the commitment of the People’s Coalition Government to support sports development at all levels. He highlighted that the government will continue to invest in athletes, enhance sports infrastructure, and promote inclusivity in sports. He acknowledged the significance of providing opportunities for all Fijians, regardless of gender, ethnicity, or ability, to engage in sports and achieve their aspirations.
