Fiji has secured the opportunity to host the 2026 Pacific Islands News Association (PINA) Summit. This was announced during a recent PINA Board meeting, where Stanley Simpson, the General Secretary of the Fiji Media Association, discussed the plans for the upcoming event.

Simpson indicated that the summit will be held in Savusavu, which he described as a hidden paradise in Fiji. He emphasized that Savusavu will provide a distinctive backdrop for this regional media gathering.

The Fiji Media Association is aiming to usher in a new era for media in the country and demonstrate to the world that Fiji is making a comeback. They are also striving for a fully independent media landscape.
