Fiji has been awarded the hosting rights for the 2026 Pacific Islands News Association (PINA) Summit. The announcement was made during a meeting of the PINA Board, where Stanley Simpson, General Secretary of the Fiji Media Association, outlined plans for the significant event.
Simpson disclosed that the 2026 Summit will occur in Savusavu, which he referred to as Fiji’s hidden paradise. He emphasized that Savusavu provides an exceptional backdrop for the regional media gathering.
Furthermore, Simpson stated that the Association aims to usher in a new era for media in Fiji and showcase that the country is ready to reclaim its international presence. He highlighted efforts toward establishing a fully free media environment in Fiji.
