The Cabinet of Fiji has confirmed that the country will host the World Health Organization’s Western Pacific Region 76th Regional Committee Meeting (WHO RCM) in 2025. The Regional Committee serves as the governing body for the World Health Organization in the Western Pacific, consisting of representatives from thirty-seven Member States and areas, along with Associate Members.

The committee convenes annually to develop policies, oversee regional programs, review progress reports, and evaluate and approve new initiatives. It is responsible for adopting resolutions and making decisions that shape the activities of the Regional Office and country offices for the upcoming year. This event will mark the first time an independent Pacific Island nation hosts a WHO RCM.
