Fiji Set to Make History as Host of WHO Regional Meeting 2025

The Cabinet has approved Fiji as the host for the World Health Organisation’s 76th Regional Committee Meeting for the Western Pacific Region (WHO RCM) in 2025. The Regional Committee serves as the governing body for the World Health Organisation in this area and includes representatives from thirty-seven Member States, as well as Associate Members. The committee convenes annually to develop policies, oversee regional programs, review progress reports, and examine new initiatives for approval. It also adopts resolutions and makes decisions that shape the activities of the Regional Office and country offices in the following year. This event will mark the first time that an independent Pacific Island nation will host a WHO RCM.
