Viliame Nailiko, a resident of Nadrivatu, has expressed his appreciation for the Fijian Competition & Consumer Commission’s efforts in conducting a personal engagement session to aid the public in understanding the revised electricity tariff rates. He remarked, “Things we do not know about this revised tariff rates, they are coming to tell us,” acknowledging the significance of the information shared.
Joining Nailiko in his praise, Sulueti Tavodi, another Nadrivatu Village member, conveyed that the one-on-one consultations provided her with valuable insights regarding the proposed 2025 electricity tariff. This direct interaction not only enhanced their understanding but also fostered community engagement around important changes.
The public consultation regarding the new electricity tariff, which is set to take effect in 2025, will proceed this week at the MHCC Complex in Suva. Such proactive measures by the commission are crucial in ensuring that the public is well-informed and can voice their input on matters that will impact them directly. This approach fosters transparency and community involvement, paving the way for more informed decisions regarding essential services.
