The Cabinet has approved a grant aid agreement with the Government of Japan to bolster the operational capabilities of Fiji’s Ministry of Public Works (MPW). Under this arrangement, Japan is set to provide approximately $12.6 million, which will be allocated towards the acquisition of crucial heavy machinery needed for road construction and maintenance throughout Fiji.

This investment is designed to enhance the MPW’s ability to execute roadworks more effectively and efficiently across the nation. With this improvement, communities can look forward to better infrastructure and improved connectivity, which are essential for fostering economic growth and enhancing the quality of life for residents.

Such collaborations between nations highlight a commitment to developing robust infrastructure, reflecting a shared vision for progress and development in the Pacific region.
