Jai Narayan College and Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Primary School emerged victorious in the 2024 Vodafone Fiji National Schools Chess Championship.

Jai Narayan College, led by Women’s Candidate Master Tanvi Prasad, secured the secondary school title with a total of 14 points. Meanwhile, MGM won the primary school division, finishing with 10 points.

Goru Arvind, General Secretary of the Fiji Chess Federation, expressed appreciation to Vodafone Fiji for reinstating the championship after it had been on pause for five years.

In the secondary school division, Marist Brothers High School claimed the second position with 11 points, while Deenbandhoo Memorial School came in second in the primary school division with 5 points.

The championship saw participation from a total of 12 school teams.
