Fiji Schools Chess Championship: Triumphs and Comebacks!

Jai Narayan College and Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Primary School emerged victorious at the 2024 Vodafone Fiji National Schools Chess Championship. Under the leadership of Women’s Candidate Master Tanvi Prasad, Jai Narayan College secured the secondary school title with a total of 14 points. Meanwhile, MGM claimed the primary school division with 10 points.

Goru Arvind, the General Secretary of the Fiji Chess Federation, expressed gratitude to Vodafone Fiji for revitalizing the championship after a five-year break. In the secondary school division, Marist Brothers High School finished in second place, earning 11 points, while Deenbandhoo Memorial School took second in the primary school division with 5 points. The championship saw participation from a total of 12 school teams.
