Jai Narayan College and Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Primary School emerged victorious in the 2024 Vodafone Fiji National Schools Chess Championship.
Under the leadership of Women’s Candidate Master Tanvi Prasad, Jai Narayan College secured the secondary school title with a total of 14 points. Meanwhile, MGM claimed the primary school division championship with 10 points.
Goru Arvind, the General Secretary of the Fiji Chess Federation, expressed appreciation to Vodafone Fiji for reinstating the championship after a five-year break.
Marist Brothers High School ranked second in the Secondary School Division with 11 points, while Deenbandhoo Memorial School took second place in the Primary School Division with 5 points.
The championship saw participation from 12 school teams in total.
