Jai Narayan College and Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Primary School emerged victorious in the 2024 Vodafone Fiji National Schools Chess Championship.
Jai Narayan College, led by Women’s Candidate Master Tanvi Prasad, secured the secondary school title with a total of 14 points. Meanwhile, MGM claimed the championship in the primary school division, finishing with 10 points.
Goru Arvind, General Secretary of the Fiji Chess Federation, expressed appreciation to Vodafone Fiji for bringing back the championship after a five-year break.
In the secondary school division, Marist Brothers High School secured second place with 11 points, while in the primary school division, Deenbandhoo Memorial School finished in second with 5 points.
The championship featured a total of 12 school teams competing.
