– Clearing long-standing debts, including repaying a World Rugby loan of FJD 2.7 million, ensuring long-term organizational sustainability.
The outgoing Trustees expressed pride in their accomplishments, attributing success to the hard work of FRU staff, members, and partners. As they transition leadership, they are optimistic about the organization’s future growth and accomplishments.
Peter Mazey remarked on the importance of addressing past issues to pave the way for a brighter future. He emphasized the proactive approach they took by engaging with players, unions, stakeholders, and critics to facilitate progress.
The newly elected FRU Board includes key members such as Mosese Naivalu as Legal Director, John Sanday and Tevita Tuiloa as Commercial Directors, Cathy Wong as Women’s Director, and Koli Sewabu and Conway Beg as Rugby Directors. This team will be responsible for steering Fiji Rugby toward further talent development, enhancing national team performance, and promoting international growth of the sport.
