BJ Mather has resigned from his position as General Manager of the Fiji Rugby Union High-Performance Unit due to personal commitments. Peter Mazey, Chairman of the FRU Trust Board, confirmed Mather’s resignation and expressed his intention to discuss the matter further.
Mather had recently accompanied the Flying Fijians at the Pacific Nations Cup finals. In the interim, Bill Gadolo will take over as Acting General Manager of the HPU.
Mazey also announced that the position will be advertised, as it is funded by World Rugby. “We are obliged to advertise the position because it’s a World Rugby paid role. When advertised, I hope Bill takes over, as he has been BJ’s understudy, as well as Simon’s, and I’m happy to work with him,” Mazey stated.
