With the Fiji Airways Men’s 7s team aiming for gold at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, the Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) is proactively seeking a new assistant head coach to enhance its coaching structure. This move comes as part of a broader strategy to ensure the team’s success in the upcoming Olympic cycle.

In addition to the men’s program, the FRU has also opened applications for an assistant head coach for the women’s national sevens team, highlighting their commitment to advancing female rugby as well. As the organization focuses on strengthening its developmental pathways, it is also looking to appoint a new head coach and specialized forwards and backs coaches for the Fiji Under-20 men’s team.

These initiatives reflect the FRU’s long-term goal to build a robust talent pipeline, improve performance at all levels, and maintain Fiji’s competitive edge in both sevens and fifteens rugby internationally. The emphasis on investing in coaching resources underscores Fiji’s dedication to nurturing its rugby talent and fostering a strong future in the sport.
