Waisea Nacuqu, the experienced playmaker for Fiji Airways Fiji men’s rugby sevens, is set to return for the upcoming Vancouver Sevens tournament taking place from February 22-24 in Canada. Alongside Nacuqu, veteran forwards Sevuloni Mocenacagi and Jerry Matana are also making their comeback from injuries, bolstering the team’s depth.

Head coach Osea Kolinisau has included robust Nadroga No.8, Ilikimi Torosi, who adds strength to the forwards. Nadi winger Mosese Naura, who showcased impressive performances during last season’s Skipper Cup, has earned his place in the 13-member squad. The Fiji team will compete in Pool C against Spain, Uruguay, and the USA in the tournament.

This marks a strategic shift for the team, as Kolinisau has opted to drop five players from the squad that participated in the Perth Sevens tournament, showcasing his commitment to optimizing team performance.

Fiji’s squad for the Vancouver Sevens includes:
– Waisea Nacuqu
– Jerry Matana
