Following updates in the Government’s approach to distributing bonuses for the Paris Olympics silver medalists, it has been confirmed that the players have received their promised $20,000. Initially, the Ministry of Sports planned for the Ministry of Finance to transfer the funds directly to the athletes, but later discussions suggested that the Fiji Rugby Union would be responsible for handling the payment. Head coach Osea Kolinisau has confirmed that the players have indeed received their bonuses. The Fiji men’s team is currently engaged in rigorous gym training in preparation for their upcoming competition at the 2024-25 HSBC SVNS, scheduled for the Dubai 7s tournament on November 30 to December 1 at Sevens Stadium.
