Following alterations in the Government’s approach to the distribution of bonuses for silver medalists at the Paris Olympics, it has been confirmed that the players have received their promised bonus of $20,000. Initially, the Ministry of Sports intended for the Ministry of Finance to make direct payments to the players. However, the plan later shifted to have the Fiji Rugby Union handle the disbursement. Head coach Osea Kolinisau has verified that the players have indeed received their money. “Yes,” he confirmed when asked about the bonuses. Meanwhile, the Fiji men’s team is undergoing rigorous gym training in preparation for their first tournament in the 2024-25 HSBC SVNS series, which will take place at the Dubai 7s from November 30 to December 1 at Sevens Stadium.
