Fiji Rugby Player and Nihon University Student, Sekove Tagicakiverata, Dies Mysteriously in Tokyo

The rugby community and Nihon University in Tokyo, Japan are mourning the unexpected death of Fijian rugby player and student, Sekove Tagicakiverata, which occurred last Friday.

Tagicakiverata was rushed to hospital on Thursday and tragically pronounced dead the following day. Notable Fiji rugby star Waisale Serevi shared his grief on Facebook, referencing his trust in divine plans during such challenging times.

Before his time in Japan, Tagicakiverata was a student at the Marist Brothers High School, and a versatile player for Eastern Saints and Covenant Brothers in the Suva Rugby Union club competition. Remembered by friends as a diligent, humorous individual both on and off the field, many predicted a bright future for him in rugby.

Tagicakiverata had also undertaken training as part of the Officers Cadet in the Republic of Fiji Military Forces. The cause of his untimely death remains undetermined.
