Rugby League enthusiasts in Fiji can look forward to an exciting new season as the prestigious Vodafone Cup competition was officially launched in Suva. The anticipation is high, with all 24 teams set to showcase their skills starting this weekend.
Fiji Bati head coach Wise Kativerata expressed confidence that this year’s tournament will be particularly thrilling, supported by the increasing interest in rugby league sports among the youth. Kativerata is optimistic about the opportunities available for players aspiring to join the Fiji Bati team, emphasizing that dedication and effort are key. He stated, “Every player has got an equal chance, it’s a matter of how you look after yourself. I always tell them to follow their dreams, and I believe that hard work always beats talent.”
The competition will feature eight teams from the Western Division and 15 from the Eastern Division, commencing with the opening match at Bidesi Park in Suva. The first game is set to kick off at 9 am on Saturday, pitting the Kinoya Sea Eagles against the Davuilevu Knights.
