BJ Mather has resigned from his position as General Manager of the Fiji Rugby Union High-Performance Unit due to personal commitments. This resignation was confirmed by FRU Trust Board Chairman Peter Mazey, who intends to have further discussions about Mather’s decision. Mather had recently accompanied the Flying Fijians during the Pacific Nations Cup finals.
In the interim, Bill Gadolo will assume the role of Acting HPU General Manager. Mazey mentioned that the position will be advertised since it is funded by World Rugby. “We are obligated to advertise the position because it’s a World Rugby paid role. When the position is advertised, I hope Bill takes over, as he has been BJ’s understudy, as well as Simon’s, and I’m happy to work with him,” Mazey stated.
