Fiji Rugby Union CEO Koli Sewabu has opted not to elaborate on the significant loss of over $21,000 that occurred during the Pacific Nations Cup match between the Flying Fijians and Tonga. This financial shortfall was highlighted through a reconciliation document related to the Skipper Cup final, which was obtained by Times Sport, showing transactions between the Fiji Sports Council and the FRU.

When pressed for additional details regarding the loss, Sewabu simply stated, “No further comments.” He mentioned that various topics had been deliberated in the recent General Assembly, noting that the concerns raised by member unions have been acknowledged. Ongoing reviews are set to continue, with preliminary consultations scheduled for January, although a specific date has yet to be determined.

Sewabu emphasized the need to move forward, stating, “Time to move on and focus on 2026.” This reflects a commitment to future events and opportunities for Fiji Rugby, despite the challenges faced. The focus on long-term goals is a positive aspect that can bring hope and renewed energy to the organization and its supporters as they prepare for upcoming competitions.
