Apisai Ketenilagi has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA), starting on January 2, 2025, for a three-year term. This decision was made by the FRA Board in accordance with the Fiji Roads Authority Act of 2012. To ensure the best candidate was selected, the Board used KPMG’s expertise in the recruitment process.

The position was advertised following FRA’s recruitment policy, and Ketenilagi was chosen after a thorough evaluation by a three-member panel consisting of FRA Board members.

Ketenilagi brings over 30 years of experience in road infrastructure engineering, covering various areas including highways, rural roads, bridges, marine structures, and asset maintenance. His educational qualifications are impressive, featuring a Master of Science in Highway Management and Engineering, an International Masters in Public Administration, a Bachelor of Engineering, and a Diploma in Civil Engineering. Moreover, he is well-regarded within professional engineering circles across multiple continents, including Australia, the UK, the USA, Asia, and Australasia.

FRA Board Chairman Atunaisa Nayago praised Ketenilagi’s extensive experience and emphasized that he is well-suited to lead the FRA in its mission to enhance infrastructure in Fiji. Nayago expressed confidence in Ketenilagi’s ability to improve the organization’s performance and deliver safe and sustainable infrastructure as Fiji continues to evolve.

The FRA Board congratulated Ketenilagi and looks forward to collaborating with him to reach new goals and successes in infrastructure development.
