Apisai Ketenilagi has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA), set to begin his three-year term on January 2, 2025. The decision, endorsed by the FRA Board, adheres to provisions established under the Fiji Roads Authority Act 2012.
The FRA Board, with the help of its internal Procurement Department, collaborated with KPMG to ensure a comprehensive search for the most qualified candidates for the CEO position. The job was advertised in line with the FRA’s recruitment policy, resulting in Ketenilagi’s selection by a panel of three Board members.
With an extensive career spanning over 30 years in road infrastructure engineering, Ketenilagi has made notable contributions in areas such as highways, rural roads, bridges, marine structures, construction, and maintenance of assets. His academic credentials are robust, featuring a Master of Science in Highway Management and Engineering, an International Masters in Public Administration, a Bachelor of Engineering, and a Diploma in Civil Engineering. Additionally, he is an esteemed member of various professional engineering organizations across Australia, the UK, the USA, Asia, and Australasia.
FRA Board Chairman Atunaisa Nayago expressed confidence in Ketenilagi’s appointment, stating, “Apisai Ketenilagi brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise to this pivotal role.” He emphasized the Board’s belief in Ketenilagi’s ability to enhance the FRA’s operations and commitment to providing safe and sustainable infrastructure in Fiji, while also looking forward to his leadership in navigating the challenges presented by an evolving infrastructure landscape.
The Board also conveyed its congratulations to Ketenilagi and anticipates collaborating to achieve significant milestones in the future.
