Authorities have confirmed the recovery of the body of a five-year-old Australian boy who was swept away by strong currents near the Biausevu Waterfall. The incident occurred around 2 PM yesterday, and the child’s body was discovered along the Biausevu River later today.
Personnel from the Sigatoka Forensics Unit and the Criminal Investigations Department have transported the body to the Sigatoka Hospital mortuary, where investigations into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy are ongoing.
In a parallel development, search efforts are currently underway for a 50-year-old man who went missing after attempting to swim across the Tulahewa River yesterday afternoon. The man was returning from his farm when the strong currents swept him away.
