The Fiji Red Cross Society has initiated relief efforts for communities in the western region of Fiji that have been severely impacted by recent flooding. Recognizing the critical need for clean water in crisis situations—especially during heightened risks of diseases such as typhoid and diarrhea—the Society has mobilized its resources to assist those affected.

In Nadi, urgent needs were identified at evacuation centers, prompting a partnership with Frezco Beverages Pte Ltd, which generously donated 100 cartons of 1.5 liters of Fijian Artesian Water. This vital contribution will support families in dire need of hydration.

Volunteers from the Red Cross in Tavua have also been actively engaged in relief efforts at the Tavua District School evacuation center, where they are distributing dignity kits and essential supplies to ensure that families receive the support they require. Additionally, awareness sessions are being conducted to educate the community about the prevention of Leptospirosis, Dengue Fever, Diarrhea, and Typhoid.

This concerted effort by the Fiji Red Cross Society demonstrates a strong commitment to community welfare and public health, highlighting the importance of collaboration and immediate action in the face of natural disasters.

In a time of adversity, the dedication of volunteers and the generosity of local businesses stand out as beacons of hope, providing much-needed support and care to those affected by the floods.
