The Fiji Public Trustee Corporation has announced the appointment of Reshma Chand to its Board of Directors. Currently, Ms. Chand holds the position of Director of Finance at Basic Industries Pte Limited.
With over 19 years of experience in finance and auditing, she has a solid background in governance and financial management. Ms. Chand has worked in diverse sectors such as financial services, utilities, tourism, hospitality, insurance, and government statutory bodies, both in Fiji and across other Pacific Island countries.
Her knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and IFRS for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) has allowed her to successfully lead financial reporting conversions for prominent organizations.
Ms. Chand is affiliated with the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, CPA Australia, and the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants (FICA). She serves as a Council Member at FICA and is actively engaged in the community, currently holding the position of Treasurer for the Fiji Chess Federation.
Liliana Warid, chairperson of the Fiji Public Trustee Corporation, expressed confidence that Ms. Chand’s extensive experience would greatly benefit the organization. Ms. Chand fills the vacancy left by Verenaisi Takirua, who resigned from the board in July 2024.
