The Fiji Public Trustee Corporation has appointed Reshma Chand to its Board of Directors. Chand, who is currently the Director of Finance at Basic Industries Pte Limited, brings over 19 years of experience in finance and auditing, emphasizing governance and financial management.
She has worked in various sectors such as financial services, utilities, tourism, hospitality, insurance, and government statutory bodies, both in Fiji and other Pacific Island nations. Chand’s expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and IFRS for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) has led her to successfully manage financial reporting conversions for several major organizations.
Chand is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, CPA Australia, and the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants (FICA), where she also serves as a Council Member. Additionally, she is actively engaged in community service as the Treasurer of the Fiji Chess Federation.
Liliana Warid, chairperson of the Fiji Public Trustee Corporation, mentioned that Chand’s extensive background will provide significant value to the organization. Chand takes over from Verenaisi Takirua, who resigned from the board in July 2024.
