The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) has issued a notice to residents in areas that typically experience high turbidity issues from the Tamavua Water Treatment Plant. With ongoing heavy rainfall, customers should be prepared for possible interruptions in their water supply.

The recent rains are expected to significantly impact the quality of water in source streams, which presents challenges for water treatment and could lead to a decrease in production capacity at the Tamavua facility.

The communities that may experience disruptions include:

– Mika Drue Place and Pathik Crescent
– Mead Road, in addition to Volavola Road, Evetts Place, and Top Shop Road
– Elevated regions along Lakha Singh Road, including Sakoca Road
– Areas along Tacirua Road, encompassing Raibevu Road and Tacirua Heights
– MH Superfresh, and Upper Mead Road, as well as Princes Road from Twomey Hospital to Loa Street Junction
– Princes Road from Joes Farm to Sawani Service Station
– Upper Delanivesi Areas along with Upper Lami Village Road, Kalekana Settlement Road, and Muaivuso Village.

WAF assures customers that their teams are diligently monitoring the situation and are committed to managing production levels effectively to mitigate the impact on water supply as much as possible.

In summary, while the adverse weather conditions may cause temporary disruptions in water service, the proactive measures taken by WAF demonstrate a commitment to ensuring residents have access to essential resources. With their ongoing efforts, there is hope that any supply issues can be managed swiftly and effectively.
