Fiji Prepares for Key Human Rights Review in Geneva

Attorney-General Graham Leung will head Fiji’s delegation to Geneva, Switzerland, where he will participate in an interactive dialogue regarding Fiji’s State Report at the 48th session of the Universal Periodic Review Working Group set for January 2025. This follows the Cabinet’s approval for the submission of Fiji’s State Report to the Universal Working Group Secretariat.

The Universal Periodic Review (UPR) process, managed by the UPR Working Group, involves a member state-driven assessment of each country’s human rights record every four to five years. Fiji’s most recent review by the UPR Working Group occurred in November 2019. The upcoming fourth review of Fiji under this mechanism will take place during the 48th session of the UPR Working Group in January 2025.
