Fiji Prepares for Key Human Rights Review in 2025

Attorney-General Graham Leung will head Fiji’s delegation at the 48th session of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Working Group in Geneva, Switzerland, where he will participate in an interactive discussion regarding Fiji’s State Report in January 2025. This follows the Cabinet’s approval of the submission of Fiji’s State Report to the UPR Working Group Secretariat. The UPR process, which is conducted by the UPR Working Group, involves a review of each member state’s human rights record every four to five years. Fiji’s last review occurred in November 2019, and the upcoming review will take place during the UPR Working Group’s 48th session in January 2025.
