Attorney-General Graham Leung will head Fiji’s delegation to Geneva, Switzerland, where he will participate in an interactive dialogue regarding Fiji’s State Report during the 48th session of the Universal Periodic Review Working Group in January 2025. This follows the Cabinet’s approval for Fiji’s State Report submission to the Universal Working Group Secretariat. The Universal Periodic Review (UPR) process is a member state-led initiative that assesses each country’s human rights record every four to five years. Fiji was previously reviewed by the UPR Working Group in November 2019. The upcoming review will mark Fiji’s fourth evaluation under the UPR mechanism at the scheduled session in January 2025.
