Fiji Prepares for Critical Human Rights Review in Geneva

Attorney-General Graham Leung will head Fiji’s delegation to Geneva, Switzerland, where he will participate in an interactive dialogue concerning Fiji’s State Report at the 48th session of the Universal Periodic Review Working Group in January 2025. This follows the Cabinet’s approval of the submission of Fiji’s State Report to the Universal Working Group Secretariat. The Universal Periodic Review (UPR) is a member state-driven process that evaluates the human rights records of countries every four to five years. Fiji was previously reviewed by the UPR Working Group in November 2019. The upcoming fourth review of Fiji under this mechanism is scheduled for January 2025 during the 48th session of the UPR Working Group.
