The Fiji Powerlifting team achieved remarkable success at the Oceania Regional Powerlifting Championship, returning home with an impressive haul of 19 medals. Vivaan Patel made a notable entrance into the sport, clinching a gold medal in the Sub-Junior category during his debut. Vinesh Chand added to the team’s success with a bronze medal in the U74kg Open category. Faga Varea also shone brightly in his first international outing, winning silver in the Squat, Bench, and Total in the U93kg Open category, while Muzammil Ali secured bronze in the same class.
The team’s efforts extended to Viliame Lagonilakeba, who faced tough competition in the U105kg class to earn a bronze medal, and Kurt Wise, who achieved silver in the U120kg Open category.
