The Fiji Powerlifting team made a remarkable showing at the Oceania Regional Powerlifting Championship, returning home with an impressive total of 19 medals. Their outstanding performance against some of the region’s finest lifters showcased their determination, skill, and hard work.
Vivaan Patel stood out with a stellar debut in the Sub-Junior category, clinching the gold medal. Meanwhile, Vinesh Chand earned a bronze medal in the U74kg Open category. Faga Varea also had a successful outing in his first international event, competing in the U93kg Open category where he secured silver medals in the Squat, Bench, and Total. Muzammil Ali complemented this achievement by earning a bronze in the same category.
In other notable results, Viliame Lagonilakeba faced tough competition in the U105kg class, ultimately capturing a bronze medal, while Kurt Wise showcased his strength with a silver medal in the U120kg Open category.
