The Fiji Powerlifting team delivered an outstanding performance at the Oceania Regional Powerlifting Championship, securing a total of 19 medals. Competing against some of the best powerlifters in the region, the team’s results underscored their dedication, skill, and hard work.
Vivaan Patel made a strong impression with his debut in the Sub-Junior category, claiming the gold medal. Vinesh Chand also shone in the U74kg Open category, earning a bronze medal. Faga Varea excelled in his first international competition in the U93kg Open category, capturing silver in Squat, Bench, and Total. Meanwhile, Muzammil Ali added another bronze to the team’s tally in the same category.
In the U105kg class, Viliame Lagonilakeba faced fierce competition but ultimately secured a bronze medal. Kurt Wise performed admirably in the U120kg Open category, bringing home a silver medal.
