The Fiji Powerlifting team put on an outstanding display at the Oceania Regional Powerlifting Championship, securing an impressive total of 19 medals. Competing against some of the finest lifters from the region, the team’s remarkable achievements underscore their commitment, skill, and extensive training.
Vivaan Patel made a strong impression in his first international appearance by clinching a gold medal in the Sub-Junior category. Vinesh Chand also shone brightly, earning a bronze medal in the U74kg Open category. Exemplifying resilience and prowess, Faga Varea distinguished himself in his inaugural international competition in the U93kg Open category by capturing silver medals across the Squat, Bench, and Total events, while Muzammil Ali earned a bronze in the same category.
Viliame Lagonilakeba faced stiff competition in the U105kg class but emerged with a bronze medal. Additionally, Kurt Wise excelled in the U120kg Open category, taking home a silver medal.
