Fiji’s Powerlifting team achieved an impressive feat at the Oceania Regional Powerlifting Championship in Nauru, where they secured a total of 19 medals. The team earned two gold medals, seven silver medals, and ten bronze medals while competing in various weight categories, including under 74kg, under 83kg, under 93kg, under 105kg, and under 120kg.
Notable medalists from Team Fiji included Vinesh Chand, Faga Varea, Muzzammi Ali, Viliame Lagonilakeba, Kurt Wise, and Vivaan Patel, who was also recognized as the youngest competitor at the event.
In addition to their medal success, Fiji has won the right to host the 2026 Oceania Powerlifting Championship, presenting a fantastic opportunity for the nation to spotlight its talents and develop the sport further.
