The Fiji Police Force is alerting the public against the dangerous practice of pointing laser lights at aircraft, emphasizing that it endangers the lives of passengers and crew members.
Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations (ACP) Livai Driu issued this warning after a meeting with civil aviation officials. He expressed grave concern about the reckless and improper use of laser pointers in the vicinity of airports.
ACP Driu emphasized that directing laser lights at planes poses significant risks to all individuals on board and urged anyone witnessing such behavior to immediately report it to their local police station by calling 917 or to Crime Stoppers at 919.
