Fiji Police Warn Against Dangerous Laser Pointer Abuse Near Airports

The Fiji Police Force has issued a warning to the public against the use of laser lights aimed at airplanes, highlighting the serious risk it poses to the safety of passengers and crew. Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations, Livai Driu, expressed these concerns after discussions with civil aviation authorities earlier today.

Driu emphasized that the intentional and improper use of laser pointers near airports raises significant safety issues. He urged individuals who witness such dangerous behavior to report it by contacting their local police station, dialing 917, or reaching out to Crime Stoppers at 919.
