The Fiji Police Force is urging the public to refrain from pointing laser lights at aircraft, emphasizing the potential danger it poses to passengers and crew. Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations, Livai Driu, issued this warning after a meeting with civil aviation officials, where concerns about the misuse of laser pointers near airports were discussed. ACP Driu highlighted that directing laser beams at planes jeopardizes the safety of everyone on board. He encouraged anyone witnessing such behavior to report it by contacting the nearest police station at 917 or Crime Stoppers at 919.
