Fiji Police Urge Peaceful Solutions Amid Disturbing Incident

The Fiji Police Force is encouraging residents to address conflicts peacefully instead of resorting to extreme actions that could jeopardize their safety and well-being. This message follows an incident that took place early in the morning along the Suva foreshore near the Fiji Police Academy, where a police officer intervened in a domestic dispute.

The duty officer at the academy overheard a couple arguing around 3 am and responded to the situation. Upon arrival, the officer noticed that an allegedly intoxicated woman was trying to harm herself. He intervened to help her partner bring her back to safety, assisting the couple in resolving their issues.

The police remind the public that alcohol is not a solution to problems and highlight that excessive drinking often intensifies unresolved conflicts, leading to serious harm or even death in some instances.
