The Fiji Police Force is encouraging residents of Fiji to address their problems peacefully rather than taking drastic actions that could endanger their safety and well-being. This appeal follows a recent incident that occurred early in the morning along the Suva foreshore, close to the Fiji Police Academy, where an officer intervened in a domestic dispute.
According to the police, the duty officer at the academy heard a couple arguing around 3 AM and went to investigate. When he arrived, he found a woman, who appeared to be intoxicated, attempting to harm herself. The officer intervened to help her partner bring her safely back to shore and assisted the couple in resolving their conflict.
The police are also reminding the public that alcohol is not a solution to problems and that excessive drinking can worsen unresolved issues, leading to severe consequences, including death.
