The Fiji Police Force is calling on residents to address conflicts peacefully rather than resorting to hazardous actions that threaten their safety. This message follows a recent incident on the Suva foreshore near the Fiji Police Academy, where an officer intervened in a domestic dispute during the early hours of the morning.

Reports indicate that the duty officer at the academy heard a couple arguing around 3 AM and went to investigate. Upon arrival, he found that a woman, reportedly intoxicated, was attempting to harm herself. The officer intervened to help her partner bring her back to safety, where they worked together to resolve their issues.

The police reminded Fijians that alcohol is not a solution to problems and that excessive drinking often worsens existing conflicts, potentially leading to severe harm or even fatalities.
