The Fiji Police Force is cautioning the public against the act of aiming laser lights at aircraft, emphasizing that such behavior jeopardizes the safety of everyone on board. Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations (ACP) Livai Driu issued this warning following a meeting with civil aviation authorities earlier today, where concerns about the intentional misuse of laser pointers near airports were discussed. ACP Driu stressed that targeting aircraft with laser lights poses significant risks and urged anyone witnessing such actions to contact their local police station at 917 or call Crime Stoppers at 919.
