“Fiji Police Urge Calm Amid Domestic Incident: A Call for Peaceful Resolutions”

The Fiji Police Force is encouraging citizens to address their conflicts peacefully, warning against taking extreme actions that could jeopardize their safety and well-being. This plea follows an incident early in the morning along the Suva foreshore near the Fiji Police Academy, where an officer intervened in a domestic dispute.

According to police reports, a duty officer at the Fiji Police Academy heard a couple arguing around 3 am and went to investigate. Upon arrival, the officer found that a reportedly intoxicated woman was attempting to harm herself. He intervened to help her partner bring her back to safety onshore, where he assisted the couple in resolving their issues.

The police are also reminding the public that alcohol is not a solution to problems, emphasizing that excessive drinking can worsen unresolved conflicts, leading to serious harm or even death.
