The Fiji Police Force came together today at the Suva Civic Center for a dedication service in preparation for the 2024 Ratu Sukuna Tournament and the festive season operations.

Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew emphasized the importance of unity among the police family, stating that the gathering was an opportunity to seek divine guidance for the significant events approaching in the coming weeks. He compared the gathering to a pre-battle synchronization, ensuring that all members operate on a unified and successful frequency.

While the primary focus is on achieving victory in the 2024 Ratu Sukuna campaign, the Acting Commissioner also highlighted the importance of facilitating a safe and pleasant environment for everyone during the festive season. He wished the participating teams good luck and acknowledged the invaluable support and sacrifices made by their families.

In a spirit of collaboration, the Fiji Police Force expressed gratitude to the Australia Federal Police for their continued support of the #88blues campaign, particularly through logistical assistance. Members of the AFP, including Senior Pacific Liaison Officer Superintendent Adrian Morton and Detective Inspector Paul Everingham, attended the dedication service, where sporting kits for participating teams were blessed by Force Chaplain Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Joeli Mawi.

The excitement builds as the 2024 Ratu Sukuna tournament kicks off on Tuesday with the Boxing competition, culminating in the much-anticipated rugby challenge between the Shop & Save Police Blues and the Republic of Fiji Military Forces on Saturday, November 9, at the HFC Stadium in Suva.

This community spirit and camaraderie among law enforcement serves as a reminder of the positive impact of collaboration and support within the community. As the tournament approaches, it brings a sense of hope and unity, showcasing the dedication of the Fiji Police Force not only in sports but also in ensuring safety and security during the festive season.
