The Fiji Police Force held a dedication service today at the Suva Civic Center in preparation for the upcoming 2024 Ratu Sukuna Tournament and the festive season operations. Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew emphasized the significance of this gathering, stating it serves as a moment for the policing family to unite and seek divine guidance for the events ahead.

According to the Acting Commissioner, this assembly mirrors the synchronization that takes place before embarking on a major operation, helping to ensure that everyone is aligned and ready for success. He highlighted the importance of not only excelling in the Ratu Sukuna campaign but also maintaining safety and a positive environment throughout the festive season.

The Commissioner extended his best wishes to all participating teams and expressed gratitude towards the families of police personnel for their ongoing support and sacrifices. The Fiji Police Force also recognized the assistance from the Australia Federal Police, who contributed logistical support to the #88blues campaign.

During the service, AFP Senior Pacific Liaison Officer Superintendent Adrian Morton and Detective Inspector Paul Everingham attended alongside Fiji Police Force members. The event included a blessing of the sporting kits for all teams, conducted by Force Chaplain Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Joeli Mawi.

The 2024 Ratu Sukuna tournament is set to kick off on Tuesday with a Boxing competition, culminating in the main rugby match between the Shop & Save Police Blues and the Republic of Fiji Military Forces on Saturday, November 9th, at the HFC Stadium in Suva.

This gathering not only highlights the strong camaraderie within the Fiji Police Force but also underscores their commitment to community safety during the festive season, combining sporting spirit with a dedication to public service.

As the tournament approaches, there is anticipation for a celebration of sportsmanship and cooperation among all participants, fostering a sense of unity in Fiji.
