The Fiji Police Force has announced that a raid carried out by the Serious Organized Crime and Intelligence Department in the Southern Division has led to the arrest of a suspect allegedly involved in the sale and distribution of marijuana. The operation took place yesterday.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu reported that a 40-year-old man was taken into custody in Caubati during the search. The operation resulted in the discovery of multiple dried branches and leaves suspected to be marijuana, wrapped in foil.

ACP Driu emphasized the Fiji Police Force’s commitment to dismantling individuals or groups involved in drug activities as part of its Counter Narcotics Framework. The suspect remains in custody while investigations are ongoing.

Law enforcement is encouraging the public to report any information regarding those engaged in the illegal drug trade by contacting Crimestoppers at 919 or 917.
