The Fiji Police Force has intensified its policing efforts as the festive season approaches, implementing low-key tactical operations to ensure law and order across the nation. Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police Aporosa Lutunauga emphasized that despite recent public concerns, particularly following an attempted robbery in Tacirua Heights, the situation remains under control.

Lutunauga cautioned potential offenders, urging them to reconsider any plans to commit crimes during this busy time of year. He assured the public that police are well-equipped and ready to respond effectively to any incidents. “We will be out there in the public to respond to crimes, and we did so in the Tacirua incident. We have available men on the ground at this time,” he stated.

The police force’s rapid arrest of two suspects in relation to the Tacirua case sends a strong deterrent message to those contemplating criminal activities. To maintain an edge over potential offenders, the police are strategically conducting operations discreetly, which allows them to manage situations more effectively without revealing their movements.

Heightened activity on land and sea during the festive season has prompted authorities to enhance their presence at critical locations such as ports, road checkpoints, and other key public areas. This proactive approach aims to safeguard communities and enhance public safety throughout the holiday festivities. The Fiji Police Force is committed to ensuring a safe and enjoyable festive season for all residents and visitors.
