Fiji Police Seize Thousands of Marijuana Plants: Owners Still Unknown

The Fiji Police Force is working to identify the owners of drug farms after seizing over 2,000 plants suspected to be marijuana in the Northern region. Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations (ACP) Livai Driu stated that ongoing efforts to reduce the supply of marijuana, targeting cultivators, have led to several farm raids in recent days.

ACP Driu reported that a raid conducted in the Tacilevu area yesterday resulted in the seizure of nearly 400 plants believed to be marijuana. Authorities have yet to locate the owner of this farm.

In an additional raid in the Waisagavuna area, two farms were raided, resulting in the seizure of nearly 1,700 plants suspected to be marijuana.

ACP Driu emphasized that the focus of their operations is on reducing the supply of both white and green drugs across all five policing divisions.
